Bad Boys Blue

The supergroup BAD BOYS BLUE was formed in
1984 in Cologne, Germany. The producers team Tony Hendrik & Karin Hartmann had had
great success for years with many artists in Germany and became interested in huge
international aknowledgement. They started looking for young talented musicians and for
their tremendous surprise they found what they needed in their hometown. Trevor Taylor,
Andrew Thomas & John McInerney became the bad boys dressed in blue.
The music of BBB presents is kind of a half-fast melodic beat to what you can dance
without sweating, breaking legs and can look into your partner's eyes. Or you can swallow
the tears of sadness till the blood's salt containing rises to the critical point and so
on. The group has travelled the world, has sold millions of records and performed infront
of the audience of 100 000 people. BBB has so many tasty and famous hits that probably
none of the parties can go 100% well without their music. If you haven't heard BBB, you
haven't heard the best of euro-disco.
Debuted in the fall of 1984 with the single "L.O.V.E. IN MY CAR" BBB paved it's
way to German club scene. But things really started to happen when the following year
their super debut album "HOT GIRLS, BAD BOYS" provided the singles "YOU'RE
A WOMAN" and "PRETTY YOUNG GIRL" which entered international charts all
over Europe, Asia and Africa. Not being blinded by the overnight success BBB released a
new album each year. The great albums "HEARTBEAT (1986), "LOVE IS NO CRIME
(1987)", "MY BLUE WORLD (1988)" & "THE FIFTH (1989)" included
the marvellous smash hits "I WANNA HEAR YOUR HEARTBEAT (1986)", "COME BACK
& STAY (1987)", "A WORLD WITHOUT YOU (1988)" & "LADY IN BLACK
(1989)" among others.
In 1988 Trevor Taylor left BBB to pursue his solo career. He was replaced with Trevor
Bannister who stayed with the group until 1993. During that time and with the nineties BBB
moved to a higher level of eurodance by releasing classical uptempo albums "GAME OF
LOVE (1990)", "HOUSE OF SILENCE (1991)", "TOTALLY (1992)" &
"KISS (1993)" and timeless singles "QUEEN OF HEARTS (1990), "HOUSE OF
SILENCE (1991)", "I TOTALLY MISS YOU (1992)" & "SAVE YOUR LOVE
(1992)" to mention a few.
The following albums "TO BLUE HORIZONS (1994)" & "BANG! BANG! BANG!
(1996)" were released under the record-company of Intercord, Germany. 1995 brought
BBB a new member - Mo Russel, thanks to who BBB formed a trio again.
In 1998 BBB signed back to Coconut-Records and played a massive role on the world's dance
scene as they took part in the 80's revival boom with the albums "BACK (1998)"
& "...CONTINUED (1999)". Composer Hendrik collaborated with another
multi-talented German songwriter David Brandes and top producers Andy Matern & Gary
Jones as they released the explosive singles "YOU'RE A WOMAN'98", "THE
TURBO-MEGAMIX" & "FROM HEAVEN TO HEARTACHE".
Yet another two marvellous eurodance albums "FOLLOW THE LIGHT (1999)" &
"TONITE (2000)" were released under Coconut around the millennium madness. The
hit "I'LL BE GOOD (2000)" became a summer smasher. Mo left BBB in 1999, he was
replaced with Kevin McCoy. In 2002 BBB rekindled it's collaboration with David Brandes as
they started working together under Bros-Music's trademark .
